I have a copy of the 15h Annual Report of the Society For the History of the Germans in Maryland. Date 1900/1901. Below is some information gleaned from this document.
Edward F. Leyh died July 2,1901. He was a professional newspaper man; he started as a reporter and became of the most eminent journalists of the German-American press until his death, the cheif editor of 'Der Deutsche Correspondent' a large daily paper published in Baltimore. He was also a contributor to the English press such as the the 'New York Times' and "Herald". He was a correspondent and contributer to a number of influential papers and magazines in Germany.
He was born on June 6th,1840 at Meiners near Liebenstein in Thuringia,Germany. He was educated and attended the Seminiaris of Homberg and Schluchtern to become a teacher in public schools. He came to America on May 29th,1861. He married Elise Lauter on Aug 25,1861. They had 9 children of which I know names of: Fritz; Bertha, and Rosa.

Bertha Leyh married Charles Ruth. Children: Frieda; Helena; and Hilda.
Frieda married Frederick S. Steinbach. Only one child Frederick.
Frederick S. Steinbach,Jr married Cecilia Totis. Children: Mark and John.
John Steinbach m. Terese Ceceilia Davis. Children: Colin and Alyssandra
