In the Name of God, Aman.
I William Light of Hawkins County and state of Tennessee considering the uncertainty of mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory-blessed be almight God for the ____?____ do make and publish this my last will and testament in ___?________________________.
First, I leave unto my beloved wife Patience Light all and singular my goods and chattels during her natural life.Futhermore, I do give and bequeath unto my youngest son Jacob Light all my lands and ______?____, that is to say, the tract of land where I now live.It is also my will that the rest of my children, that is to say, Vachel Light, John Light, Wm Light, George Light, Wright Light, Joshua Light, and Michael Light, and my daughters Patience Mullins, Susannah Rice, Elenor Light, and Prudence Morelock, all and singular my goods and chattels, (after the decease of my beloved wife) to be equally divided between them.And I do hereby appoint my sons Vachel Light and John Light sole executors of my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

This Will can be located at the Tennessee Archives in Nashville.It is on microfilm - the Hawkins County Court Clerk - Wills records.This can be found on microfilm roll 31, volume 1, page #311 and dated the year of 1817.Rogersville, Tennessee, County Court Clerk probably has the original.

(*1804),(1850 Hw-); Patience Light, b. 1802, married Flower Mullins, b. 1780, both born in Tennessee (1850 Hw-88-882-census); Wright Light (5?), married Margaret Bailey December 6, 1832; Joshua Light (6?) b. 1769 (1790?), went to Su. Co. & back to Hw Co., married Nancy Cooper, b. 1795, (1850 Hw-87-882-census); Michael Light(7?), b. 1775-1794, married Eliza Dykes November 18, 1830; Susannah Light married Levi Rice; *Jacob Light (8?), b. 1800, stayed in Hw. Co., d. 1820-1830, married Rachel Morelock (who is Mary, b.1804?) Jacob is youngest son of William & Patience; Eleanor (Ellender?) Light married John Light of Greene Co.; and Prudence Light married Morelock.
