Frank James Light, 72, of 1413 Lower Exeter Rd, Appalachia, VA, died June 20 2009, at the Quillen Medical Mountain Home, Johnson City, Washington Co TN, after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Esther Light; sisters, Helen, Martha, Minnie Bell, and Clara; and brothers, Claude Light, Kenny Light, and Kyle Light.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Light, Appalachia, VA; son, Jerry Kelly and wife, Lorie, Appalachia, VA; daughter, April Collins and husband, Robert of Big Stone Gap, VA; four grandsons, Cody and Joe Collins, Zack Dorton, and Tucker Kelly; two randdaughters, Emily Collins and Katherine Kelly; several nieces and nephews; sister, Thelma Kimberling and husband, Emmett; and sister-in-law, Betty Light, all of Kingsport, TN.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2009, at the National Cemetery at the VA in Johnson City, Washington Co TN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Cancer society.
