Bob Leonard Light, 84, of the Lost Mountain Community, in Greene Co TN, died peacefully on July 2, 2012, at Laughlin Healthcare Center.
He was a member of Pine Grove Free Will Baptist Church for fifty years, where he taught the Men's Sunday School Class and served as a trustee.
Bob retired as a supervisor of the Greene County office of DOT, and also worked for many years at Summers-Taylor Paving Company. He enjoyed his farm and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cam and Betty Light; sister, Jessie Light; and brothers, Clifford Light, Ralph Light, and Raymond Light.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juanita Light; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Light and Michael Searcy; grandsons, Cameron and Aaron Searcy; sister, Neola Cooter; brother and sister-in-law, Abe and Phyllis Light, brother and dear friend, Joe Light and Marie Newton, and brother and sister-in-law, John and Rebecca Light; sisters- in-law, Wanda Whetsel and Lochiel Light; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, Greeneville, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at New Lebanon Baptist Church, with interment to follow in New Lebanon Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie Malone and the Rev. Jerry Conkin will officiate. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes before the service.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, Greeneville, is serving the Light family.
