Noah Light, Carter Co Okla 1903
I'm looking for ANY info on my ggrandparents Noah Light, married D.D. GIBSON Light. One known daughter, Lola Adaline LIGHT Youngblood b. Feb 26, 1903 in Indian Territory, Ardmore, Oklahoma. I believe that Noah & D.D. both died abt. 1908. Lola was abt 5 yrs when her parents died and is said to have been raised by her Grandmother and an Aunt in Oklahoma or possibly Arkansas. My grandmother, Lola, once got very upset with me for my persistance in asking questions about her past, and fumed, BLACK DUTCH ! at me. This was where the conversation ended. I have since discovered that the term Black Dutch was used mostly in the 1800's to early 1900's to describe those of mixed race. Family rumors have always said that we are of Cherokee, Choctaw, decent, but I have no documentation of this. I know this is not much to go on, but it's worth a shot.
ANY info would be greatly appreciated.
