There were 2 marriages in the 1820s in Cumberland county, Pa of LIGHTNER daughters. They were:
Married, 15 October 1828 in Cumberland county, Pa,SAMUEL BELL of Landisburg, Perry county, to NANCY LIGHTNER of Cumberland county, Pa.......from the American Volunteer, issue of 13 Nov 1828.
Married on Sunday last, by the Rev. Dr. Lochman, Mr. NICHOLAS JOHNS to Miss ELIZABETH LIGHTNER, both of Cumberland County.................from the Oracle of Dauphin (Harrisburg weekly), Saturday, July 21, 1821
I suspect that these must be daughters of either Ludwig or Michael.
By the 1810 census (he married sometime between 1800 and 1810), Michael had 2 daughters, one under 10 and one aged 10-15 (this, if a daughter, could only be 10 at the most as he was not married until after the 1800 census - this may be just help for his wife and he may just have the one daughter).
Ludwig had 2 daughters born sometime betwee 1790 and 1800, and by the 1810 census, he shows just 4 daughters under 10 (I believe that this number also includes the 2 earlier girls and were just all lumped together).
As both Michal and Ludwig/Loudy aren't noted in Ohio until the 1830 census, they were certainly still in Cumberland/Perry until some point in the 1820's.
Does anyone recognize the names of the spouse Samuel Bell or Nicholas Johns and what happened to them?
