I arranged for my mother's cousin, Thomas Lile, to take the test a Y-46 DNA test a few years ago. He is R1b haplogroup as well. So far, there have been only 3 very distant "matches" with no match having a Lyle or Lile surname. I have been told our Lile family is of Scottish heritage. My presumptive g-g-g grandfather James Lile appears in the 1800 Census in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania with a wife, 3 sons under 10 and 2 daughters under 10. He dies before 1810, when his wife Mary is listed as "Widow Mary Lyle" in the census in Westmoreland.
