Dear Eileen,
Well, as I said, I think, I have only just started and need all the help I can get.
Anyway Wellingborough in the Northamptonshire Family, but bringing in others of lilliman and Lylliman who all concentrate around Northamptonshire area - Wellingborough and Broughton, Barton hill Parish Priest?
I know that the Leeds branch moved up in 1868 - 1873.
I know they were very big in the shoe trade, employing Fred Maycock, who later married into the family.I have traced a connection with Shoe factories in Northampton.
I am sorting out some photos that have turned up.
Anyway. As for your post, I know there is a connection with Canada and the Maycocks / Lillymans as I was informed that in 1982-5?My Great Aunt (5th cousin) went to Canada to visit relatives.
This of course only comes out in conversations when we discuss things.
This is going to be a long process.
Anyway. I know that the Name is mainly from Yorkshire, but Northampton is the central location.
Anyway.I am going to see some cousins next week (wedding) and I will get more info.
