I believe you talked with my cousin Denise in the past.We are from the Linam family in the New Orleans area, descendants of William B. Linam, son of Israel Mckendree Linam. The L.M. Linam you refer to in this posting is probably Levi Mack Linam, one of the sons of Thomas Joshua Linam, Israel's brother. The M.C. Linam is probably Israel as that is how he was known. He was in Texas looking for Thomas when he died in 1893.
For Denise and I, this is fascinating stuff.Like so many of the Linam stories, we just never heard of anything about Linam's.We simply grew up thinking it was such a small family that there just was not anyone out there. Its such a shame that our family line through William B. was so closed mouth about things. We are truly amzed by what we are learning from all of you out there and want to participate in bringing our family line into focus.
Our family line is this: William B. Linam (b. 1873 in Kansas; d. 11/4/1954 in New Orleans) married Annie Mae Givens (b. 1890; d. 3/20/1969). Children:1.Thelma Linam (boy) changed name to Theodore Linam was born in 1906 2.Clyde Linam (birth date not yet determined) died in young adulthood for "lock-jaw" and is buried in a family friends cemetry plot.Continuing to research. 3.two boys and two girls that died young, names and ages not yet determined. 4.Wiley B. Linam (b. 8/13/1912; d. 1/31/1981) 5.Malcolm Linam (b. 1918; still living) 6.Mack Linam (b. 4/16/1920; d. 12/25/1981)
I am the son of Mack Linam.I was born on 10/8/1950 in New Orleans. We have been in contact with Douglas Brooks who is our cousin Alice Adele Linam Brooks (our grandpa's sister)..... the world is getting smaller.Look forward to hearing from you.
