Hello June, thanks for answering. The letter from Isaac L. Lingo is dated 23 Oct, 1854. Some of it is hard to read, but he talked like the son, Lawson was young because he wanted my g.g.grandfather, Calvin Morris, to tell Shed Parrish about his grandson. Shed was Sherod G. Parrish who with his wife Eliza A., were the parents of Elizabeth Parrish, the first wife of Isaac S. Lingo. They lived in Hardin County, TN, but Elizabeth had been living with her g.uncle in Randolph county, Mo., he was Isaac Harlan. Isaac Lingo said he was raised close to them (Harlans) but moved about 20 miles to Macon county when they married. He also said after Elizabeth died,he had moved back home but his mother died in a short time, and they were left without any women at all. He tried to live without one for a while, but saw that was not going to work, ha, thats what he said. He remarried on 4 Dec, 1853, to a very nice 18 year old, he said, and the kids liked her very well. He also said she was born in Jackson county, Tennessee. Do you know when Elizabeth died, or the name of the second wife.I noticed in Samuel's will that his wife, Nancy was still living, do you know if that was his only wife, if so, it seems that Isaac was probably a son of James.
