The earliest info I had was about Truman Pratt b.1804 & pretty extensive information following his daughter Emeline's line down to my husbands family.I am basing the connection to the Lawrence Litchfield line, on the Web page of Robin L. Moret that I discovered on the Geneology forum. Her information matched what I had for Truman Pratt onwards (dates, towns, names etc.)
I have a 6page tribute to Peter H.Wood (Emelines husband)
written at the time of his death, Feb.11, 1904. It refers to his & Emeline's parents/siblings, many dates, church affiliations & personal details. It states that Emeline's father, Truman Pratt (had been a member of the legislature) was Scottish, but I assume that was on his father's side (Eleazer Pratt -married to Rhoda Luce, gggg grandaughter of Lawrence Litchfield.) Emeline was orphaned at 14 years old & lived with a Methodist minister's family.
Emeline married Peter H. Wood when she was 15!In 1851 they moved (with their first child Truman David) to the "Indian Lands" in Marquette Co. Wis.They lived there 13-14years (helped build the first schoolhouse & started the first religious meetings).Without the details, for now, they moved to Wabashaw Co.,Minnesota for two years, then moved to Faribault Co. in 1866. (to stake available Government lands -it'a a real pioneer story). They ended up having 16 children. The fourth,Deforest Sylvanus Wood, was born in 1855 while they were in Marquette Co. He is my husbands ancestor. (I also have info on marriages etc. of his siblings)Deforest married Rabie Orr, October 10, 1880 and they moved to Dakota to stake a claim; they later moved to Manitoba, Canada & had 4 children, one of whom was Charles Russell Wood b. 1883, and he married Alice Emily Priest in 1906.They had 7 children, one of whom is my Mother-in-law. At some point between 1925 & 1940 (I'll have to ask) they moved to British Columbia. My Mother-in-law, Ruby Pearl Wood, married Stephen Beasley & they had 6 children, one of whom is my husband, Francis Bruce Beasley.
That's the connection.I have more details.I'm a novice.
What is the easiest way to share this. Do you just want names & dates/ or the anecdotal info, too?Tricia
