The Rev. Alexander Ellis Livesay of Charlottesville, VA is our dear friend and mentor. He has been working on his family genealogy ever since his grandmother, Nannie Belle RAMEY, impressed on him the importance of knowing "who you are and where your came from".
In 1985 he produced a booklet that was part biography and part genealogy. It was entitled "Alexander Ellis Livesay, An Unfinished Sketch".
I'm asking your help because I fear this "sketch" will continue to be unfinished. Al is losing the battle with his third bout of cancer and is now counting his time in weeks or months. I know how much he has wanted to leave the legacy of his lineage to his children and grandson and I'm hoping that some miracle connection will provide it for him.
I say "miracle" because I have been tracking my own lines for ten years and know what a frustrating task it can be.
I am attaching what he has but he has never been able to confirm the parents of Alexander who married Virginia Elizabeth PERKINS. I wonder if any of you you have ever been able to make that connection. How wonderful it would be if you have!
He thinks the lineage goes back beyond Alexander this way: John LIVESAY, b. 1823/Edmund LIVESAY b. c. 1770/ LIVESAY/ LIVESAY/ John, Thomas OR William LIVESAY/ John LIVESAY m. Joan/ Thomas LIVESAY.
I'd be so appreciative if you could take a look at the attached and let me know if you see any connections that you can help me with.
