Not sure if this will help you.
Guillaume Lizotte was married to Anne Pelletier who is the Granddaughter of Francoise Grenier (Garnier) married to Noel Langlois. Francoise' descendants have a long family oral tradition relating to the Algonquin people. While some descendants have tried to get Indian status in Canada, there are no historical records to substantiate her native origin---She is listed on databases as origin 'unknown'.
As for Guillaume Lizotte, most sources say he was born in France (not substantiated), however, some sources say he was born in Quebec in 1621. If so he would most certainly be Metis (or possibly Iroquois). This deserves a great deal more research. There were many (Metis/Native) men and women deported in 1629 by the British, who returned after 1632 when the French regained control of New France. This is one case that could never be varified by DNA testing of descendants unless he was really a Native person adopted by a European. It would be interesting for your family to get a DNA test to see if this is the case. Just so you know a European result is expected but invalid to prove that he was not Metis.
My blog can fill you in on Francoise Grenier as well as DNA testing in genealogy: http://newfrancemetis.blogspot.ca/2012_08_01_archive.htmlhttp://newfrancemetis.blogspot.ca/2012_08_01_archive.html
