WILLIAM4 SCOGGINS (ROBERT STEVEN3, WILLIS2, NICHOLAS1) b. Apr 03, 1827 SC, d. Dec 15, 1864; married MARGARET AMANDA GILLIAM Apr 05, 1844. She was born Feb 12, 1829 in Lowndesville SC and died Jun 22, 1887. He was in the SC 5th Reserve Unit Co G (CSA) from Nov 10, 1862 until Feb 10, 1863. This was a 90-day unit. He enlisted Nov 10, 1862 at Abbeville SC. He was listed as AWOL. He lived next door to Hutson LOFTIS in Lowndesville. He and Hutson Loftis married the GILLIAM sisters - William married Maudie and Hut married Sarah. After William's death Hutson married Maudie. Mary Amanda Gilliam is also listed as Maudie Gilliam. She married Hutson Loftis in 1870. She is listed on the 1880 census with Hutson Loftis, his underage children and their son Charles Wheeler Loftis. Several of Maudie's children from her first marriage are listed on the census too. Martha J. Scoggins, James F. Scoggins and Eva Wilnot Scoggins. Maude's 1st mother-in-law, Elizabeth Scoggins (who is William Scoggins mother)is also listed.
