Glenda, This probably has no connection with you or your Logwood but it was just brought to my attention today since I am researching HALL & LOCKWOOD(S)or LOGWOOD in Cambridgeshire, England -- to be more specific, Charlotte LOCKWOOD(S)/LOGWOOD who married John HALL in 1829.My HALL line came to USA in 1851 but have no idea about my LOCKWOOD(S) a.k.a. LOGWOOD.Another researcher sent the following data to me.Is any of it familiar to you?The next 3 paragraphs were from the researcher...
**LOCKWOOD(S) was a pretty unusual name in Cambridgeshire and clearly there were problems with spelling it since one of the variants seems to have been LOGWOOD! Between the variant spellings there were only 12 baptisms and 10 burials between 1801 and 1837 in the whole county but luckily the baptism for Charlotte is there - Charlotte LOGWOOD bap 1805 in March, Cambridgeshire dau ofThomas & Mary LOGWOOD. [also Joseph LOGWOOD bap 1801 in March, Cambridgeshire son ofThomas & Mary LOGWOOD and Mary LOCKWOOD bap 1804 in March, Cambridgeshire dau ofThomas & Mary LOCKWOOD - she was buried in March, Cambridgeshire in 1804 ]
I couldn't find Thomas LOCKWOOD/LOGWOOD after the 3 baptisms but Mary seems to have died in 1818 aged 51 and was buried in March. Note the baptism index only starts in 1801 so there may have been children baptised before 1801.
I then went in search of Thomas & Mary's marriage and there was quite a surprise there! From an online index I subscribe to I found a marriage in 1783 in Wisbech St Mary for Thomas LOCKWOOD to Mary HALL !! I think you really need to get hold of this marriage entry, don't you!!!**
