My grandmother was a Longino from Ga.
I think from the info that I have, that your Sarah may be my Sarah America Longino b. abt. 1853.I know that the year is not exact, but she would be about the age of the daughter of Absalom Smiley Longino who's family was in the Fulton Co. area about the same time as your Sarah.Fulton borders Coweta and is near Spalding.
I don't know if you've noticed, but there are very few Longino's in America compared to other surnames. Most likely your Sarah is descended from a John Thomas Longino who fled Italy abt. 1750 and settled in N.C.His grandson, Absalom apparently left N.C. for Ga. sometime in the early to mid 1800's.As I said, I'm not positive that your Sarah is Absalom's, but the geographical proximity is pretty convincing that they are related in some way.Feel free to email me if you would like more info on the family.
