Thanks for your prompt reply. I am happy to learn more, as I go along ,of the Longoria-Chapa family. I am also a direct descendent of Juan Diego Longoria, and of his son José Matías Longoria, who received Porción 93 in Starr County in 1763 from King Carlos III of Spain. The Longorias, as well you know, came to Monterrey from Asturias, from a small town called "Longino" close to Oviedo, in northern Spain; making us of Celtic and Germanic genes. My mom, a direct descendent of Matías Longoria , had those genes, blond and blue eyes as were her brothers, and dad. I will send you a copy via e-mail of her only surviving sister and brother, both blue eyes. Please send me your e-mail address to: drlinogarcia@SBCGlobal.Net
Also, I would really like to have in my possession copies of the documents that you have--family tree, etc. If it entails sending it by mail, let know how much it cost, as I know these things can get expensive.
My mom was born at Rancho Longoreño in Maatamoros, and other haciendas owned by the Longorias there were La Canasta, and Barranquillas.
More on this, as my wife is calling me.
PS: Three of my sisters have colleg degrees; my late brother--Capt. Ramon Garcia was a US Navy Pilot, had a PH.D, and recevied a Masters Degree from the John F.Kennedy School of Government at Harward. Talk about the Longorias being educated. It is the genes we carry.
