Was wondering if anyone had any info on this man's family? I know he used to come to Lowell, MA with his traveling shows and it is in Lowell that my 3rd grt. grandfather Joseph D. Moody was a practicing Indian doctor. He was there from about 1856 to 1877.I believe he died in 1877. He appears in the Lowell census' and in the Lowell city directories as an "Indian doctor".In the 1870 Lowell census his race is marked as " I " and living with him is a 15 year old Indian girl born in Canada. Also in Lowell was Dr. Joseph A. Masta a well known Indian doctor. He was born in Quebec, Canada and had his own Masta's Pulminary elixir that I'm sure he hocked in these traveling Indian shows which Frank Loring headed up. I found a photo of Frank online somewhere in my travels and could not get over how light skinned he was.My own Indian family also passed for whites in Maine and MA. I feel that many of these men probably knew each other back then.My Dr. Joseph D. Moody was a great deal younger than Frank Loring, but still their family's may have known of each other and that is why I figured they all came to Lowell, MA and Frank's company seemed to pass through there a good bit as well. Any info greatly appreciated.Thank You.
