I am the grandaughter of Priem Losee. Priem had five sons, Paul Douglas, Harold Louis, Jack LaMar, Merritt and Wilton Dean (Bill). My father was Harold. I was told by a aunt and a cousin of my father that Louis middle name was Beaurgard because Priem's father Bert's real father Ace Beaurgard died when Bert and his brother was young. In their Mother Caroline Beaurgard's obit says that after her first husband died she then married Herbert Losee and the boys took on the Losee's name. Here is the full obit: Obituary For Caroline Losee-Elkhart Truth, Tuesday, April 5, 1921 Mrs. Caroline Losee Expires, aged 60 years. Mrs. Caroline Losee of 116 1/2South Main street, aged 60 years, died at 8:45 o'clock last night, Just before the holidays, Mrs. Losee suffered an attack of pneumonia, and since then she had failed gradually, her death being attributed to a complication of maladies. Mrs. Losee, who was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Booth, was born at Pittsford, Mich. on October 5, 1860. Her first marriage was to Ace Beauregard in 1872. To this union two sons were born, Bert L. Beauregard of this city and Louis Beauregard of Danville, Ill. Hers husband dying in 1778, Mrs. Beauregard married Herbert Losee a year later. Her sons by her first marriage took the name of her second husband and are now known as Bert L and Louis Losee. Four sons and a daughter were borne to Mrs. Losee's second husband. They are Benjamin, Jay and Robert Losee of this city and Clyde Losee of Chicago and Mrs. Arthur Prussian of Grand Rapids. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, five half-brother and two half-sisters, also survive. The body was taken to the home of Bert L. Losee, 801 Middlebury street.
( I feel that the statement that her first husband died in 1778 is a type error and it should be 1878)
Maybe this will explain the name of Beaurgard. I know that in some census Bert's brother Louis went back to the name of Beaurgard and sometimes it is under Berrygard.
