Stacey, The only way to look up b.d.& m before 1837 is I.G.I. who are not always right, or church records. Civil registration (where you can get copies of certificates) do not start until 1837. They didn't often record parents names or agesexcept to sometimes say 'of full age' This is for marriages.
The parents are named for baptisms, but sometimes only the father. Deaths usually record the age and sometimes where they lived, or if the death was 'unusual' the cause. I wonder if Edward was crew on a convict ship or conected in that way. I will keep looking as I am a nosey sort of person and have just finished doing some work for a couple of friends. Don't expect too much as it is only a hobbie and I'm not that good. Maybe if you E-Mail me direct it would be easier. Glen.
