Yes, turning Loudoun Castle into a 'theme park' is an outrage and an incredible insult. The "Act of Union" of 1707 was signed there; an act of ;vision' that ended all the warfare between England and Scotland, and prevented further meddling by the French in Scottish affairs. It was also a center of 'intellectual' activity. No doubt Adam Smith, the author of "The Wealth of Nations" was inspired by the discussions and rich intellectual atmosphere in the Castle's library ......!
Surely there are enough interested Loudoun/Louden/Loudon 's to raise the funds necessay to preserve this tremendously important and symbolic estate?
