I am researching my great-grandfather, ALEXANDER LOUDOUN, of Ayrshire, possibly of Galston, who married MARY WYSE and moved to New Brunswick, Canada in the 1850's. They are buried here along with their son, Wilson and two sisters. Two brothers "went to sea" and ten years later settled in Australia. Their names were John and Alex. I have written to the dozen Loudoun families there and received one response but no information. I spoke to Lady Jean Campbell of Loudoun in the 1970's who said there were only six families in Britain with the double "ou" spelling. Any information would be appreciated and I will share what I can. Thank you.
