Yes, I find it entertaining as well, can't wait to hear his source.Actually I believe that the family name came from the hometown in Germany.Heinrich David (the immigrant)'s oldest son John Peter was baptised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sohren on the Rhine.Less than 5 miles northwest of Sohren was a little town by the name of Lautzenhaussen, too small to have a church.(?).When Heinrich david came into the US was he asked his name and not understanding English believe he was being asked where he was from?When he replied... did the town name become his surname?Not really too farfetched at all if you think about it.
