Glad to get your message.I don't have proof that James Lovelace is my gggrandfather, but strongly suspect that he is.I knew my ggrandmother was a Loveless, but knew nothing about who her parents were & there is no one living that knew anything. She was Augusta Lee Loveless, born 1856 in Ga.
I was looking up census on another family member (whose name also started with an L), & loe & behold, believe I found my ggrandmother.
This was in 1860 Titus Co., Tx., pg. 229A.
Loveless, James, 28, SC
", L. F., wife, 28, Ga
", A. L., dtr., 4GA(Augusta Lee Loveless?)
", M. L., dtr., 1Ga("Lula"?I know that she
had a sister called
", B. C., son, 0/12 Tx(This could be R. C.
instead of B. C.)
", G. H., 22SC(possibly George, bro.
Then in 1900, Erath Co., Tx., Prec. 8
#141Loveless, James, head, Nov 1831, 58,SC,SC,SC
", Samuel, son, Mar 1884, 16, TX, SC,Ind
", John, son, Nov 1886, 13, TX, SC, Ind
Cypert, Cora B., gdt., Feb 1879, 21, Ar, Ar,
Living next door, in hh#140,is my ggrandmother & her family (Benjamin F. Gooden)
So I do not have any proof & have been unable to find where James was between 1860-1900, however, as he is living next door to my ggrandmother,I believe it is more than a coincidence.Obviously from the 1900 Erath Census, Lucretia must have died & James remarried & had 2 more children.
I would be more than happy to share any information with you & would love to see if you can shed some light on this.
You can email me directly. Marylynn
