Rose,If it seems more appropriate to respond to me directly, please do so at .My John Loveridge triple great grandfather was at one time Bailiff and later mayor of Buckingham, a member of the corporation of Stowe (helped control elections for the Marquis and later Duke of Buckingham), as well as the Sgt. Major of the Bucks Militia. He was married three times, to Anne ?, in 1821 to Mary Anne Perkins, and in 1836 to Elizabeth Seeley (who died two years later).I believe most of the children were from the first marriage, and were, to my knowledge, Esther H., Eliza, Maria, William, Emma, George Henry, Harriet and John Edward.George Henry is my line (he married Isabella Ladler--his brother William married Isabella's sister, Lizzie) according to my sources. The Ladler sisters were children of William Ladler and Margaret Forster who lived, at least for a time, in Oxfordshire.George Henry was in the Coast Guard/Navy, lived for a time in England, and then near Barton upon Humber.
I have more information if you are interested. My sticking points are, who was John Loveridge's first wife Anne, and where did John Loveridge come from (I do not know about siblings)?I have a copy of John's will which gives more information about other connections.
I have also been in touch with Pat Loveridge in England. She has researched the family a great deal, but says that her line is a more modest group.
