I know very little and am new to researhing this Lovett Line but here goes:
Amanda (maiden?) LOVETT born abt1842 in Alabama (or Georgia) In 1900 Meriwether, Woodbury, Georgia, an Amanda LOVETT is living there but husband has another name (possible middle name) but was listed as Benjamin LOVETT. married a John Lovett born about 1841 in Georgia. Although some census indicate they had several kids, the only two I am positive about are: John W. LOVETT born appx 1872 in Georgia (he may be a John Wesley LOVETT that died in Pensacola (Escambia County) Florida in 1936, but that is just a guess. Another child is Byson(?)LOVETT born abt 1876 in Georgia (it is possible that both these children may have really been born in Florida). There is a Byson Lovett living in the BREWER household (relationship unknown if any since appears to be a border). in the 1900 Meriwether, Odessa Georgia Census. Another child may have possibly been named Eddie LOVETT who married a Lucy that was living nearby him in Meriwether Georgia in 1900 but again, that is just a guess. Another child may have been a Benjamin LOVETT, this is a guess also. In 1880 the family was living in Calhoun Georgia and had a widow border named Mary SMADLEY(?) living with them (maybe no relation). In 1870, this family was living in Milton, Holmes, Florida (kids not born yet, but had a 10 year old child living with them named Georgina(?) COOK who was born in Florida. I believe this child may have been a possible step-sister to John Lovett (b: 1841). Other POSSIBLE family related names may be: COOK, TERRY, SUTTON, COOLEY, COODY, BRYANT, GIBSON or GIPSON, BARNETT, MORRISON,BREWER, WARD,
This family is believed to have a native american background originating from the Amanda (maiden?) LOVETT, born abt 1842. Amanda had a sister named Sara Elizabeth (maiden?) WARD.
Please email me directly if anyone has any information on these families.
