MRS. U. G. LOVVORN DIES IN ELVINS
Mrs. Bettie Delitia (Parker) Lovvorn died at her home in Elvins, Tuesday, February 24, 1959. She was born in Ellis Grove, Ill., on August 13, 1872, a daughter of the late William P. and Melinda Parker, and was aged 86 years 6 months 11 days at the time of her passing.
She was married on June 10, 1891 to Ulysses Grant Lovvorn who preceded her in death on August 18, 1958, at the age of 89 years. They were parents of seven children, two daughters, Maude and Ida, having died in childhood. Surviving are four daughters and a son: Elnora (Mrs. A. E. French), Irondale; Myrtle (Mrs. R. M. McCoy), Mrs. Grayce Sutton and Miss Hilma Lovvorn, Elvins, and Ezra J. Lovvorn, Philadelphia, Pa. She also leaves four grandchildren: Donna (Mrs. Wm. Morice), Elvins; Barry Lovvorn and Mrs. Sharon Suttmoeller, St. Louis, and Bernard French, Farmington. A granddaughter, Jeanne (Mrs. Douglas DeBruler), is deceased. A sister, Mrs. Grayce Simpson of Modesto, Calif., and a brother, George Parker of San Antonio, Texas, also mourn her passing.
Mrs. Lovvorn is in state at the Caldwell Funeral Home in Elvins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Elvins, of which she was a devoted member, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Ronald Wood. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery.
