Thomas Lowes 1844 /1855 & James Lowes 1869 /1871 Sunderland Area Of England ??
Hello all of you Lowes' out there!! :)
Subject : Another Lowes Trying To Find The Details Of Great Great Grandfather's & Grandfather Lowes' Family
I hope this finds you all well !!
I have had a huge headache for so many years now from trying to locate the details of my Great Great Grandfather & Great Grandfather & just hope their is someone out there who may be able to help in some way for me to be able to go back in my tree & prove which relations are mine.
I know that my Great Grandfather may have been orphaned & supposedly adopted or taken in by either an Uncle or Aunt & Uncle with the surname of Lowes . My orphaned Great Grandfather was named as James Lowes after this possible adoption & his possible adoptive father was called Thomas Lowes. My Great Grandfather a coal miner James Lowes was born between 1869 and 1871 approximately.
I know he married Isabella Percival at Haswell Plough County Durham ,Easington , Durham Eastern.Reg Office on the 13/03/1892
Unfortunately all I know but not sure about the accuracy is that Thomas Lowes James Lowes' father was born between approx 1844 to 1855 and they lived in the Sunderland area of the North East of England , ( Haswell Moor / Haswell Plough , Murton , Easington are among some of the names mentioned ) ( I know that after James Lowes & Isabella Percival were married they later moved to Shildon County Durham ) & later to Merrington Lane Spennymoor County Durham. There was some talk that Thomas Lowes' family came from Scotland or lived there .
I was told also that Thomas Lowes' mother possibly died after child birth complications in approximately 1856 aged in her 30's .
There is a story told that James Lowes was possibly called James Sword before he was adopted by a family relative but I am not certain of this just that family rumours say that a lot of their nicknames revolved around the words Daggers & Swords ( Jimmy Dagger , Dagger Lowes , Jim Sword as a boxing name also ).
I really hope their is someone out there who may have discovered this Lowes family in their searches and may be able to shed some light on this puzzle of mine .
Many thanks for taking the time to read this :)

Arran Clyde Lowes ,
