Hi Sharon I'm so excited I can hardly stand it, It was so nice to get up this morning and find your reply.
As to how I ended up in Canada, I came with a friend after we had been to the states, we visited with some Aussie friends,I met my husband ,got married and had 6 children, [thats the short end of it]
As for Grandpa "Jonsey" as that is what we called him,he was completly blind in his old age and very much dependent on Grandma, he still had his white beard and we often listened to him reminsce, how I wish that I could remember what he said!.No I'm sorry I don't remember what year he died, I was bornin 43 and was only little so it could of been around 47-50, but I'm not sure, I thought she would of buried him in either Collie or Dewllingup, I don't know where the Jones came from, It seemes to me in those days they changed their names to suite how they were feeling that day.I'm wondering if Eliza was in contact with him at that time?, I don't remember hearing much about grandmas siblings. My cousin Robyn who was pretty well raised by Grandma and Grandad and who now lives in Perth sent me a few pages of a book called "Timber and Two Up"[no longer in print] and in it a Thomas Bushe Jones is mentioned a long with mygreat grandfather William and his wife Anne Elizaand a Jessie Alcorn who's father was called "Dada Gardiner" is this a coincidence or do we conect there?.No Sharon my tree is not very advanced, my mother did some and now my brothers daughter and her mother in the East have the "Bug" and I'm trying my best but I have trouble remembering what twig goes on what branch![1 borrowed that from you], however I do have much of Grandma's siblings and so it"s good to hear from you regarding Eliza May.Do you know anything about Marion? she was born in 1890 and so must be the last child to Janet and Samuel.Do you think they kept in conact with each other at all?, I'm sure it wasn't easy in those days, how blessed we are to live in the age of internet!! even if it does have it's down side.Yes I would love to recieve what you have on the family and I will be happy to send you what I have.
Guess what ? I was born in Bunbury and went to high school there [Up on the hill] I have a brother in Collie and another in Melbourne, the only first cousin I have on the Alcorn side is Robyn, her mother, Who's name was Jessie May,I will send you the photo of Thomas and Jessie/Janet but will have to either get my girlfriend or son to help me as I'm not sure how to do it, I have a scanner and did send some to my niece last week and successfully I might add, however I'm unsure how to do it going through this site, I'm sure this is a mess but bare with me I get better with time!! Hope to hear from you soon. Perrie.ps, I have Janet Jones-Box death certificate, Eliza isn't recorded on it? there are so many mysteries arn't there .HOpe to hear from you soon.
