My Great Grandmother Mary Jane Loy (DOB 1857) was married to Adam Frank Bayer. They lived at least a portion of their married lives in Codington County, South Dakota.
Mary was born in Olmsted County (around Rochester) Minnesota. Her parents were Day (DOB 1832) And June Loy (DOB 1830). The census information I have indicates that they, at some point immigrated from Northern Ireland.
There are a bunch of other Loys in the census from this same county in Minnesota. I know they have to be related but I have not been able to find the common thread between them.
I also have not been able to find the name of the town in northern Ireland from which they immigrated. Maiden names for women are also a problem.
I would love to share information with other "Loys" with Minnesota (Iowa, Wisconsin and South Dakota) connections.
