This is a call from the Castlebar, County Mayo, branch of the Luddens.
We have tracked our ancestry back from John Ludden (B. 1844), married Bridget Harte from the townland of Tawnyeeny, Glenisland, parish of Islandeady.
The family moved to farm a strip of land at Cilbree, off the Castlebar Westport Road. The children from this marriage were;

Michael served with the Irish Guards in the Great War and lived in Castlebar,
John (AKA Jack) emigrated to New Ollerton, Newark Nottinghamshire, England 1920, worked as a coal miner,
Frank remained single and worked the farm in Cilbree,
Margaret remained single and worked the farm in Cilbree with her brother Frank
Bernard, the youngest, DOB 1896,emigrated to England and worked at the Rolling Mill, Foundry Operations, Ford Motor Company in Dagenham.
Bernard Ludden was my father, and he married Hannah Marrey. There are four children, Margaret (Peggy), Elizabeth (Betty), James (Jimmy), Terry.
This branch of the Ludden family is based in the South East of England in the London area. We are in touch with the Westport branch of the family and would love to hear from anyone connected with our branch of the family.
