My great-great grandfather was Johann Luedtke, who married Auguste Laabs. They came to the U.S. from Pomerania in 1863 on the ship Union from Hamburg to Quebec and settled in Ozaukee County. The manifest that shows their emigration can be found in ancestry.com at the following site: http://content.ancestry.com/browse/default.aspx?dbid=1068&iid=K_1709_080468-0219http://content.ancestry.com/browse/default.aspx?dbid=1068&iid=K_1709_080468-0219
Interestingly it shows Johann Luedtke's geburts- und wohnort (birth and current place living) as Leipzig (maybe he was working there?). Auguste, Anna, and Max are shown as coming from what I think is Zarnglaff, which is very close to Holzhagen and Baumgarten. As far as I know the Baumgarten church records are not available to check on dates for any of this part of my family.
I did find the birth record for Auguste Laabs in Treptow an der Rega in 1838 and have a copy of that if you would like it.
I have a photo of Johann and Auguste Luedtke taken in 1900. I'd be interested in learning anything more you know about where the Luedtkes/Laabs came from and any photos or history you might have about them.
