Todd,
All the information I had concerning any Lugar descendant(s)from the Roanoke area was given in my previous query. In fact, my primary reason for the query was to find out the identity of the "Mrs. Lugar" that hosted the January, 1881 marriage of James H. Trout and Lora Lee Hypes, the eldest daughter of William Benton Hypes (1845 - c 1925)and Mary Elizabeth Lugar (c 1843 - c 1910?), both of nearby Craig Co., VA. Suspecting that William and Mary (Lugar) Hypes didn't have the greatest of relationships, she (Mary)could have been temporarily estarnged from her husband and/or staying in Roanoke in 1881. She could have been their on her own or quite possibly, at her Aunt's house, etc. ~possibly taking care of an elderly Lugar widow, etc. In any event, the point is, Who is this mystery Lugar lady in Roanoke in 1881 that hosted the marriage of Lora Lee Hypes and James H. Troutt, both of neighboring Craig Co., VA?
I should say, as a side note, that I have ancestral information on our Hypes, Trout and Lugar lines back to the immigrants (all ended up in either Giles or Craig Co., VA ~also neighboring counties)but that doesn't really help me out with the Roanoke area Lugars, say from 1850 through the 1885 era. Yes, this mystery Lugar lady may have married a Lugar from Craig Co. and moved there with her husband prior to 1881, but then again, it may also have been Mary Elizabeth Lugar (Lora Lee's mother) re-assuming her maiden surname as well. "This" is the mystery I'm actually trying to solve, especially since Mary was inexplicably absent from the family/household listing in one or two Censuses.
