I have posted this in case it helps anyone as I had seen in a book about the Lumsdens that Alexander had died unmarried. This gravestone is situated alongside his parents gravestone(John Lumsden of Overhill and Isabel Simpson) and Isabel Simpson's parents gravestone.
I have got the line of Alexander Lumsdens daughter Hope's family, but according to Alexander's will his son John was abroad. I would be interested if anyone knew what happened to John.
