Augustus & Mary Sophia Luning 1836 Phila
My name is Bill Stinger. I live in Philadelphia. My mother was Joan Luning(1932-1993) and my grandfather was George F Luning (1904-1971).
I am a decendant of Augustus C LUNING(1813-1884) and Mary Sophia
RANKIN(1816-1904). They came to the United States from Hanover in 1836.
I'm not sure if they came through the Port of Philadelphia or the Port of
New York. However, they did come to settle in Philly. Augustus' occupation
was a cabinet maker. Some of their children moved out of the state after
Augustus' death; primarily to Connecticutt, New Jersey and New York.
I know Augustus had a brother named Lewis. Lewis came to America through
the Port of New York. He settled in Philadelphia. His occupation was a
baker.
Both Ken and I beleive that my ancestors and his Great Grandfather,
Frederick are related. I think it could be as close as uncles and nephew.
