Wonderful to hear from you after all these years...even now years after you left this message. I've been working on the mysteries of Silas's family off and on since we corresponded way back in 1990's, computers and subscriptions willing.
I have often thought that Benjamin was Ann's first husband as earlier census records, if I am recalling correctly, show him living in Knox Co, and then he is not listed in 1840. Ann's maiden name is new to me.Thank you for that info.
I feel that all the Chick's in Boone and surrounding counties are somehow related but trying to figure out exactly how.I also feel that Thomas Chick's wife, Elizabeth Cook is somehow related to the Woodson's.Found a Wylie Cook in Knox and Laurel County, KY who first married a Woodson and had several daughters before his wife's death.Wylie lived with a Mary Peters several years before marrying her.
I have much of the info you posted here and agree with you as to the relationship to Silas.
