Hello Rikki, I believe your Leonard Lutes might have been connected to Johannes(John) George Lutes/Lutz, maybe he is a brother. When John came from Germany he settled in Lancaster Co., Pa.He married a Catherine Schoppf in 1761 at the same location. He seems to have been in North Carolina where is son John was born in 1772. You may now know who I am talking about, this John ended up in Jackson Co., IN where in died in 1862 and is buried in the Houston Cemetery, Salt Creek Twp., Jackson Co., IN.He married Catherine Bowman in 1808.
Notice below that there is a Lennard Lutes who took a foriegn oath of Legion in Pennsylvania.I also think that the Casper who seems to have come to America at the same time as Johannes is also a brother.
I notice that there is a Rick Stephens, I think that's his name has a copy of the book talking about the descendants of Johannes Lutes, maybe it has some of your Lutes listed.
Good Luck, Shelley Hill Shelbyville, IN
