Have been doing some research on sons of Michael Luttrell and Dinah of Fauquier Co., VA. Along the way I came up with some data that may be of interest to others.
Abner Luttrell (b. abt 1764 in Fauquier Co.) married Sarah Kelly (b. Aug 1769) on 11 Mar 1786 in Fauquier Co. In 1793 he sold the land he inherited from his father, Michael. Shortly afterwards he was in Lincoln Co., KY and is on the Kentucky Census there in 1800.
He appears on the 1810 census for Lancaster, Garrard Co., KY with one male over 45, one male age 16-25, one male under 10, one female over 45, and one female age 16-25.
I obtained three land transactions from Garrard Co., KY records.
1. Conveyance on 27 Nov 1809 of 54 1/4 acres in Garrard Co. from William Bledsoe and his wife, Patience, to Abner Luttrell for the sum of eighty pounds. [Garrard Co. Deed Bk, C-395]
2. Conveyance on 28 Nov 1809 of 35 3/4 acres in Garrard Co. from Henry Yater to Abner Luttrell for the sum of fifty pounds. [Garrard Co. Deed Bk, C-400]
3. Conveyance on 14 Nov 1818 of 35 3/4 acres from Abner Luttrell and Edward Luttrell to Thomas Terrill for the sum of $750. [Garrad Co. Deed Bk, F-227]
Edward Luttrell married Elizabeth Yater, daughter of Henry Yater and Nancy McMannis, on 8 Mar 1809 in Lancaster, Garrard Co., KY.
It seems to me that the individuals on the 1810 census include Abner and his wife Sarah Kelly, his son Edward and Edward's wife Elizabeth Yater, and probably a son of Edward and Elizabeth born within the year.
I hope this helps someone. And perhaps someone out there might know what happened to Abner and Edward after 1818. I have not yet found any records for them after that date. There does not appear to be a will or estate settlement on record for Abner in Garrard Co. And does anyone know if Abner had other children?
