I have the following information on Catherine Lux and Antonio Tudury.
Antonio Tudury (I have no dates for him)
married 1853 New Orleans, La.
(I have a copy of the marriage record from "The Annunciation Church" in New Orleans, it is in French.
Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic church in Bay St. Louis, Ms. lists a death for an Antonio Tudury on 4 Mar. 1876.
1860 Census for Orleans Parish, La. lists A. Tudury in the 8th ward, p.276.
Catherine Lux (wife)
Died: 19 Feb. 1888
Buried: Hancock Co., Ms.
(I think this is Our Lady of the Gulf also, as there was a listing for her from the same source.I will have to look up the source. I have to admit, I was in Bay St. Louis back in 1985, but it was an extremely short time.I found a stone for Catherine Lux Tudury and I did not write down the name of the church. The cemetery had several plots with iron fences and there were trees and bushes in these and I could not read the stones in these.I could not even see stones in most of these.)
(There was one large tombstone in the center with Tudury on it at the bottom, two inscriptions on this one, and two stones, one on each side of the large one.I numbered them 1-4 from left to right.
Tombstone 1, left side next to lg. stone:
Mama, Minerva Jane King
3 Nov. 1880-12 Dec. 1980
Tombstone 2, left part of lg. stone:
Theodore A. King, Sr.
5 Jan. 1892-15 Sep. 1973
Tombstone 3, right part of lg. stone:
Willie Mae King
28 Aug. 1901 (only date)
Tombstone 4, right side of lg. stone: Grandmother, Catherine Lux Tudury, no dates, unfortunately.
(I would guess, since Catherine is referred to as grandmother, that Minerva Jane King was a Grandchild of Catherine's, but from which child, I do not know.)
Other Tudury stones in this cemetery:
Tudury, Henry J. 22 Nov. 1885-21 May 1952
Tudury, Zelma B. 6 July 1894-23 Jan. 1981
(Henry is most likely a child of one of Catherine's children.)
Next to these two stones is one:
Nancy Russo 26 July 1926-9 Dec. 1927
Asleep in Jesus.
Henry J. Tudury
Miss. Sgt. Co. B. 59 Inf. 4th Div.
22 Nov. 1895-21 May 1952
(Notice the difference of ten years in his
birth on both stones!)

Will of antoine Tudury
dated: 28 April 1875
proved: 17 Oct. 1876
Executrix & legatee: Wife, Catherine Lux
Witness: A. Tudury, V. Macarly, O. Legier, and John Legier.
Letters of tutorship awarded to widow 13 Nov. 1876 for benefit of her minor children: Peter, Mary, Antoine, Rosa and Carmel.
(I did not have a baptism for Carmel, but she appears here.)
Note: I just noticed that on the marriage record for Antonio and Catherine, that the
Lux looks like it could be Luxes or something like that. There is definitely something after the 'x' in the actual text, (I can't read French.)But where she signed it at the bottom, it looks like Lux.
Other names on the marriage record are Antonio Mascaro, Manuel Fernandez (both in the text)
Signed at the bottom: A. Tudury, Catherine Lux, A. Mascaro, Bouzatte?, one I can not read but the name starts with A and the surname with an R or P, Antoinette Ponsetti (my great great grandmother who married the next person), P. Lux (Pierre or Peter Lux),
Angela Mascaro, Raphael something, and Morisot.
The record is not easy to read and I do not
know how well it would copy. But if you will get in touch with me by e-mail, let me know if you would like me to try.
I have been gathering the information on Catherine Lux Tudury, because she got married at the same church as my great great grandparents, Pierre Lux and Antoinette or Antonia Ponsetti. There were other Lux's in New Orleans, but their records are not at this church. Therefore I considered it to be quite likely that Catherine Lux might be a sister of Pierre Lux.
Pierre or Peter Lux
B: 1835 (source: obituary, says age 37)
Census record says born Alsace which is where I was told they were from.
Mar 1: unkown
(My grandfather told me that his father had a half sister.I found her on the census, her name was Laura, and she was 18,born before Marriage 2., I have nothing else on her.)

Wife: Antoinette or Antonia Ponsetti
b: 1842 (census date)
BP: Spain (son, Gabirel Anatole Lux's death cert. also states that she was a native of Spain)
I have no other info. on her.Pierre's obituary was in the French newspaper and was difficult to read, being in french and not too clear on the microfilm. The only person listed in his obit. other than himself was, A. Mascaro. The french term with his name could mean one of two things: Step-father, or Father-in-Law.(There was a list of french terms and meanings that one might find in research in one of the issues of "The New Orleans Genesis", which I copied.)
1: Pierre Joseph Lux

(He is not on the 1870 Census with the family in Hancock Co., Ms.There are, however two males at St. Stanislas school, one of which could be him.)
