Family knowledge and Seideman genealogy. Anna Maria Daum is my husband's great grandmother.
She was married to Peter Seideman. I have copies of records from Germany for Anna Maria Daum's marriage on 10 July 1844 to Peter. Anna was the child of Anton Daum and Katharina Pehl.(My maiden name is Pehl - although I have not made a definite kinship. All the Pehls came from Holler, Germany)
I also have the birth and baptism record: She was born 3 December and baptised the 10 December 1822 in Holler.
To further substantiate is the ship record from "A New Land Beckoned" by Chester W. and Ethel Hander Geue. This is the "bible" on German Immigration to Texas, 1844-1847.To wit:Seidermann (Seitemann), Peter, m. from Holler (IC) Dillenburg (SL); Herschel, 1845; w Maria nee Daum; Comal County (TX) 1848.The SL stands for ship list.I was wrong if I said 1944 - The Herschel, (second trip - I must have picked up the date of arrival for the first trip) arrived at Galveston on 16 Oct 1845.
After Peter died, she married Herbert Lux and is buried somewhere in this part of Texas under Maria Lux.
The other Daums in this book are: Anton Daum - m. 53; Herschel, 1845; Charlotte Daum - from Rehe Hesse; George Dilus, 1845, sons Leonhardt, Adolph; Christian Daum - and wife; Franziska, 1845; John Daum - m. 38, from Holler, Nass; Herschel, 1845; with Marie nee Stauder; ch Marie, Johanne, Adam; Comal County 1850.
