Hi Sallee Jessop,I live in North Carolina, in the area where it all began.I was born in Union County Illinois and have only lived here just over four years. I have attended the churches that our ancesters were very active in and one thatChristopher Lyerly, donated the land for (100 acres plus)which they still own and was the "architect" of the first Reformed church( a log cabin). That structure is long since gone, but the second building was removed and relocated to a farm near by in about 1909. and is still being used for a barn. The last building is a beautiful brick structure with a slate roof.It is located in beautiful country setting. It has a very active congregation, but is now under the United Church of Christ since about 1967. Christopher was the brother to Zacharia that is buried in Quincy Ill.They were both listed as charter members ot the first Reformed church. A mister Don Warden of El Cerrito California, mentioned once in some correspondence that,His Grandmother or Great Grandmother, who was a Lyerla, had an old family bible. I don't know if that is the one you are refering to or not. This was also about 1976, so I do not know if he is still there or not.
