I got the info from a tree that had matches to mine. I use the family tree builder that I got from myheritage.comIts pretty great. When another person puts/has a family member in their tree with matching info (i.e. name, birth/death date, relatives) it tells me and I can compare. If the match is the same person I can use that info attached to their name and fill in the blanks in my tree. It has helped me a lot with my research. I found several ancestors that I had never heard of. I also get to publish my tree online.
So, are you related to the people we've been discussing or am I just lucky that you had info about my ancestors? Are you a genealogist? I'm something of an amateur. I've only gone back 200 years. I want to go further back in my direct blood line(Owen)but its really hard. Joseph Owen is as far back as I've gone in my direct blood line. I've gone further in my mother's side of the family, but that's because I still have living relatives that can give me the info. Most of it has been online research. I would be nowhere without census info and other people's online family trees.
