The Lyman Clan, primarily those who moved from Iron County Utah to the Big Horn Basin and the Big Horn Mtns in Northern Wyoming in the 1880's, have spoke of seeing and being related to "Butch" Cassidy. Part of the Lyman B.H. Mountain homestead was adjoining the "Hole-in-the-Wall'country to the South. Robert Leroy Parker (b.Apr 13, 1866 In Beaver, Utah-1st son of Maximillian and Ann Gilles Parker),was called "Roy" to distinguish him from his Grandfather and later changed his name to George "Butch" Cassidy reflecting his admiration for fellow rustler Mike Cassidy. If you have any thoughts or information regarding the Lyman-Parker-"Butch" connection, please contact me. The book "In Search of Butch Cassidy" by Larry Pointer (no commercial/personal connection) sheds some light on his life, if you're interested. It offers some questionable facts however. I am a direct decendant of Thomas-Richard(s)-Amasa-and Charles Rich Lymans. Thanks.
