Thanks for the info. Turns out Capt. Silas Crane was in the Lyman party that travelled from Massachusetts to Natchez Dist. in 1773. No mention of the Crane family or whether Thaddeus was already married to Crane's daughter. One account of the Lyman trek across Indian country to Georgia is found in History of Alabama, by Albert James Pickett.
