A simple nuptial service performed on Saturday evening united in marriage Miss Ruth Lyman and Hubert Claude Cox, son of Mrs. C.A. Cox, who resides in the East. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. L.E. Lyman of Puyallup [Washington]. She was formerly employed at Bremer's and is now of the National Bank of Commerce. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith. After the wedding ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Cox left for their wedding trip to Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
On the eve of her wedding a surprise shower was given for the bridge-elect at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gordon Byrne of Schley Boulevard, Eastpark. Refreshments were served in a delightful setting, a wedding cake centering the table and floral bouquets of columbine and pinks used in decorations. Many lovely gifts were presented her.
Bidden were Mrs. L.E. Lyman, mother of the bride; Mrs. C.A. Cox, mother of the groom; Mrs. Walter Dodd, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith, Mrs. Leah Earl, Miss Joyce Anderson, Miss Betty Passmore, Mrs. Van Cox, Miss Marybelle Passmore, Mrs. James Newall, Mrs. Kenneth Moffett and Miss Juanita Cox.
