My ancestor Richard Jackson b. 1778 was the son of Richard Lynam killed by Indians in S.W. Virginia in 1778. He and his brother Andrew Lynam were living there and defending the territory from the Indians during the Revoluntionary War.Andrew left Va. and moved to Bath Co. Kentucky. I hope that there is a tradition in his family that they have cousins by Andrew's brother Richard (killed by Indians) that took there mother's maiden name Jackson. I would like to share more info. with researchers of this line of Lynams.
