Diane: Alfred Walton Perdue is my great-great grandfather. I descend through his son Daniel Walton Mabry Perdue/Willie Leon Perdue/Charles L. Perdue Sr./Charles L. Perdue Jr. Daniel Walton Mabry's wife was Nancy Seay. Nancy had a brother John and their father was John and they, no doubt, connect up with the Seays in Amelia County, Virginia area but I haven't been able to document that connection yet. The Mabrys are well documented by Don Collins who has published a book on that family. Check further down on the Mabry forum and you will find references to Don's web site. Alfred Perdue's father was Isaac Perdue, born 1887 in Maryland and, according to information in the 1812 pension application of Isaac's brother James' 4th wife, raised in North Carolina. Send me an Email at: firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know your connections and interests and give me your home address and I will send along some information on these families. I don't know much about the Owens. Alfred and Mary raised Mary's kids by Newsome. Since I am not descended from them I have naturally not paid much attention to the records for Owens. I grew up outside Atlanta and made many, many visits with my father and family to the relatives and old homesites in Pike, Spalding, Barnes County areas.
