I FOUND SOME INFORMATION ON REV. R. CUMMING WHO MARRIED THEM.I don't know if there are any records at the First Carmel Church.I don't even know if it still exists, or in what form, but could you tell me if this church is still around and if they have any records/documents from around 1881 and forward from then?He was there for 30 years...there must be something he left.I suspect he knew my entire family.
The first Carmel Church was erected in 1870, but while the dedication services were in progress, it was burned to ashes.A new church was soon erected, and Rev. John Lees was called to be pastor, 1873 to 1879.Rev. Robt. Cumming, D.D., was called in 1881 and resigned in 1912, closing a most happy and successful pastorate of 31 years.Rev. D. A. Frame is present pastor, 1913.
