Canadian Chieftain Sought
In 1936 Aeneas 13th Lord Reay the Chief of Mackay, visited Canada and met with George Finlay Mackay the Chieftain of the Aberach Branch of the Mackays.
George was born in 1900, and while serving in the Canadian Air Force he represented Canada in the 1924 Olympics and won a silver medal in the Coxless Fours.
He then joined the StudebakerCorporation of Canada as their sales representative in a territory which included Bulgaria, Turkey, Palestine, Egypt, Sudan and eastward to what was then known as Persia. He later returned to Canada as Studebaker's Assistant Sales manager.
In 1936 he, his wife Margaret and son Iain, who may be the present Chieftain, are believed to have lived in Castleton, Ontario..
Any information on George or his decendants would be welcomed to allow the Clan Mackay to identify the Chieftain of the Aberach Branch of the Clan Mackay.
