Hi Margaret,
I agree with you Donald Ban MacMillan lived all his life at Callich, and the Donald MacMillan living at Garvan is a different family from the Callich branch. More likely to be descended from Ewen MacMillan who went to the Conaglan Estate in 1628 and his descendants live in and around Ardgour. I would be most interested to get that list of children of Dobald Ban. We know of Archibald who put up the grave stone, and Ewen his eldest who was mistakemly murdered by his father coming home to Callich from his sisters place at Ardachvie.
There was another family of Macmillans living at Kinlocheil not far from Garvan that are related to the MacLeans as well.
John MacMillan was a tenant in Kinlocheil during the 45' as mentioned on Page 91 of Bygone Lochaber. He had a son John and a daughter Christian who married Allan MacLean they had a family and lived at Blaich. Their son Lachlan is my gt gt gt grandfather born c.1770. John MacMillan junior had a son Donald who was a farmer in Kilmallie, and his 5th son Rev John MacMillan 1799-1875. I also found reference from another book to a Ewen MacMillan who fought at Culloden and was from Glenfinnan where the monument for Prince Charles Stuart was. I believe a brother to John MacMillan of Kinlocheil and direct descendants to Ewen MacMillan of the Garvan area who settled here in 1628.
